Why We Should All Be Reflecting This New Year

by Jan 1, 2018

The world you see outside of you will always be a reflection of what you have inside of you.

An exciting new year is ahead! While you may want to rush right into the tasks that 2018 will bring, but I challenge you to strategically learn from 2017, a year full of good, bad, and in-between experiences. The major goal here is to find what brings you joy, robs you of joy, and how those things affect what you can bring and give to others. There are three major areas to reflect on: career, relationships, and self-care

Here are 20 questions to deeply process before you dive into your 2018 goal setting.

What made me most proud?

What new skill did I learn?

What positive patterns did I put into action?

What/Who did I learn the most from?

Who/What am I most inspired and excited by?

What worries have I moved past?

Where, when or what gives me joy/peace?

What did I do for others?

What am I grateful for?

What do I wish I could do differently?

What did I struggle with the most and why?

What negative belief about myself do I no longer have?

Who/What am I repelled by and why?

What went better than I expected?

What was harder than I expected?

How did I surprise myself?

What negative patterns do I seem to be repeating?

What did I start but not complete?

What was something I failed at and what did I learn?

What made me feel shame?

Once you’ve answered these questions, you are ready to start creating goals for 2018. With a little work, you can ensure that next years answers will be full of progress.
